As the Mill prospered in the early 1900’s production storage for grain was in short supply. In 1910 a new wing of the Mill with a five compartment, three level, timber granary was constructed to solve this problem. This silo was constructed uniquely from rough-sawn solid jarrah timbers in a special interlocking pattern which gave it strength and stability. Testament to this is their still standing today.
Our Silo Rooms are wrapped around and within this incredible silo structure and are a unique and unforgettable experience. Two Silo Rooms on each level are able to be requested as a combination pair allowing you to create your own 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom apartment. Some Silo Rooms also feature large, west-facing, furnished courtyard terraces.
The rooms are all different to varying degrees by virtue of the found condition. Where possible the rooms have exposed remnant machinery and original timber structure. Elements such as inset carpets and full height curtains soften the industrial shell. New elements in the rooms are designed to complement the existing material textures adding amenity without clutter. All in-room furniture has been bespoke designed and locally craft manufactured.
